Got on the water at around 7:30 but not much in the way of top water. Had a couple hit my spook but missed them. Finally had another hit and got it but short. Those were all on deep docks on a spook. Went into a shallow pocket and had two more on the spook but both short. Moved out in the main lake and fished humps without so much a sniff. Finally started piont hopping and caught two keepers one 17 and a half inches and the other right over 15, both with a worm t-rigged. Moved back into another flat and had one on a trap, short.:( Another flat and another one yet short.emoDoh Hit several areas around pionts again and picked up three more but only one more keeper. Left at 2;30 with a total of eleven with three keepers. Two of the ones today seemed to be spawned out so I hope the big females that have not spawned were just hiding today.emoCool Jmax

Have you seen any on the beds with the water coming up? I walked the banks at Booker T. earlier and saw several beds without so much as even a buck bass on them

. I don't see how we missed it on the lower end...or did we? I'm going with my father-in-law on Saturday and am torn between fishing the Chick or going up on the Hiwassee.

Hey Flip, my wife is back on the weekends doing 3rd at the hospital. She doesn't get home until 8am or so, which leaves the kids home alone if I were to fish with you guys. Saturday is my father-in-laws first time back on the water and he'll need to work the rust off before entering any Txs. I'll hit him up for the 28th on the Chick.

Hey Jmax,

I was using a spook yesterday in some flats near Chester Frost, and the fish were short striking it and I couldn't hook them up. I downsized to a SPRO Dawg and managed to hook up with a few of them. The largest was right at 3 ibs. and most were slicks. I was disappointed that the females did not seem to be around on the flats. If they were, I could not find them. emoBang All in all, it was pretty slow.

For what it is worth I think the bass have pulled off the beds. Three weeks ago they were there. Yesterday the water had gone from the mid sixties three weeks ago to the upper fifties. The bass that were in shallow pulled off to the first drops and points. They will come back quickly when the water warms back up. Weird year and looking at the water level today I am glad it happened. The water will only come up a foot or two at the most now. That should not mess up any beds made from today forward so the spawn will be good going forward. The shallow bite will be back on in just a week I would estimate as long as the weather stays like it is.emoAngel Beds will be having the new incoming bass on the very soon. Look forward to it.emoThumbsup Jmax
