chick crappie 3-16-07

Went fishing with my buddy Jeff today from 2pm till 8:45. We caught 17 crappie with 10 keepers. Also 1 gar, 1 big shellcracker, 1 channelcat, 4 bluegill, 2 spots, and 1 yellowbass. We were using slipfloats set at 3 ft. The water depth varied from 5 ft to 15 ft. All the crappie were caught on minnows. Saw a bald eagle also.

Good lookin slabs Steve. Were they in creek channels or around a dock???

Some were right up close to dock pilings in the creek channel areas. Some were relating to a ledge in the main river that drops from 6ft down to the 30's. It was tough with the wind and the post front situation. We had to move around alot and search out the few that we got.
