Took a friend of mine from work fishing this morning. We had 19 crappie with 14 keepers. We fished our usual areas with slip floats and minnows. The weight was 13 lbs total.

Those are some pretty looking Crappie there Steve. Good catch. Were they males or females or mixed? How are the eggs looking? Grainy yet or just yellow with blood streaks?

DK the Eggs in the ones I caught the other day were grainy and loose. They look very near ready to drop. Watch the dogwood blooms, when they drop so do the eggs.

Nice stringer of Crappie there Steve. WTG!

I figured that they were getting close there, Liveliner. I have been out of state and the boat is out of the water at least for now, so I haven't been lately. Gator and I are going this AM and hopefully, I'll get to check on these Crappie for myself. BTW, the guys at the shop can't find anything wrong with the motor. It just runs and runs and runs for them without a hitch. Guess that I'll go pick it up and if it fails again, I'll take Adam for a fishing trip with me. emoBigsmile Those things don't dare fail when a mechanic is around. emoGeezer

DK, the eggs are really loose. Runny when the knife hits the sacks. The water temp in the slough where we were was 59.3 at 2 pm. 3-4 more degrees ought to make a difference. They were a mix m and f crappies. Also some were tight to SHADY structure in 10-16 ft of water and some were in the open water relating to the quick drop offs. We also had 1 decent spot and it threw up 3 small bream in the live well.

Those are some crazy looking sunglasses you got there whisler. emoCool
They are polarized with side glare shields. That sunlight on the one and not the other was different. I get them at Boaters World.emoBigsmile

I wasn't going to say anything about the glasses but since you responded.....I thought by the pic that you had one blue lens and one red lens. Therefore fishing in some kind of 3-D. J/KemoLaugh
