Chick crappie and a drum.3-18-07

Me and Jeff put in just before daybreak this morning. We fished from daybreak till 4:30pm. We caught 30 crappie with 18 keepers. Jigs seem to work better than tuffies today. 1/8 oz. unpainted head w/red body and yellow curly tail. Jeff caught this big drum early. It was 14.6 lbs. He also got a 11.4 channel cat on the same grub. Fish were deeper today than previous trips. 6-10+ ft was the norm. We also got 3 spots, 3 lm, 1 warmouth, another channel cat, 1 yellow bass, 1 smallmouth, and 6 bluegill. Water temps up river were 53*.

Good report. I expect them to be a little deeper. I was catching them on Thursday before the front in about 6 to 3 feet. Glad to hear you boys got in them.
