Went by the Chick dam ramp yesterday to scout the ramp. With the water being so low, is this ramp ok to use? Should I be putting in at the Riverpark instead?

Awesome...thanks! I'd hate for my first experience to be knocking my motor completely off...hehe. I just liked that ramp because there weren't any other trucks or boats parked there. I'm gonna look like a complete jackhole my first time...i'll be selling tickets for the entertainment. I'll give you a call RR

Awe Bassman .. I'm sure you'll do fine!!! I'm excited for you that you are taking out RR's .. er a .. I mean your boat .. for the first time!!! Have a great fishing day.

I was wondering about what time this is going to happen.... I just might buy a ticket to watch..... If RR goes pay close attention and he will show and tell the best way to do it...however, it might be fun just to sit and watch.... I have gone over to cfp when the water first comes up and everyone wanting to go fishing just to watch the manham and wonder where these folks learn to be so comical... laughter is goooood medicine... lots of luck FA

When I first got my boat I went over to chester frost one afternoon in the week while it was still cold and practiced backing up the trailer. I didn't even put the boat in the water but after 8 or 9 times (I'm a slow learner) it clicked and while Im by far not the best person you will see at the boat ramp I am at least able to get in and out without tying up the whole ramp.

Are you talking about the ramp above or below the dam?

Same thing that I was thinking.

For the ramp below the dam you will need four wheel drive and good pulling power to pull a heavy rig up out of there. Most of the time.

FYI, below the dam, I prefer the riverpark ramp. You do need to raise the engine when the water is low, but I do it all the time anyway at every ramp I use. The thing I look for at any launching ramp is a dock to tie up to or drop off & pick up my partner.

You should make Fat Albert wade to your boat.;)
