Hunted harrison bay this morning and killed 3 mallards. We missed a few, and at 8 o'clock, the shoot was over. Not alot of ducks period on the lake. Somebody was wearin em out up by the river channel though. We had a scare today when my buddies friend got mud stuck in the end of his barrel and thought he got it all out. The next shot he took could have killed him. The barrel exploded and sent the choke flyin! It split it about 4 inches down, and ripped it open. If that wasnt enough, at the same time twra snuck up behind us and saw the whole thing. They checked our liscense, and turns out the guy with the blowed barrel didnt have his liscense. So he got a ticket ta boot. They took a picture of his barrel and sent him on his way. Luckily, it could have been alot worse for him today.

Man... that's scary! (The barrel part, not the game warden part).

It was an expensive day for your buddy huh? But you are correct in that he's lucky it's only his wallet that got hurt.

Glad to hear however that there are three fewer Chickamauga mallards.

Can I add your report to my "Waterfowl Field Reports" on Chattanoogan.com Outdoors?

That is really something that will get your attention. I teach hunter safety and someone years ago gave us a Remington 1100 barrel that was peeled back. It split in about 4 places. The cause was snow in that case. It is amazing how quickly things can turn bad.

well fishinmachine, I really dont know the guy, he's a friend of a friend. So it was a shock to both my buddy, and me when he didnt have his license. I bet ya he will have em from now on!lol 9 woodies and mallards is pretty good for the chick, Glad you got some fishofmen. emoThumbsup I sent you another pm richard.
