Anybody noticed that the water level is a foot or 2 below winter level? Anybody know if it will come back up? Been like that for a week and my favorite duck hole is not huntable right now.

HH, usually TVA pulls her down about 6 feet and it stays there until spring........per paper that's what it was yesterday.........don't go running around and tear the bottom out of your boat. that would be embarassing....FA

I heard that fa lol. I do know that the water is down atleast a foot from what it was this time last year. I just hope they bring it up 1 lousy foot.

HH, here's a link to the TVA operating guide for Chickamauga: http://www.tva.com/river/lakeinfo/op_guides/chickamauga.htm

If you look closely at it it will show you the data from this year (red) and last year(black). The grey zone is the target zone and as you can see we are not at the lower limit of where the lake usually is or where they want it to be at this time of the year. You are correct that the water level for the last couple of weeks was lower than the same time last year.

The lowest that I have ever seen the water level in winter was 675.3. Most of the time the water flucuates between 675.5 and 676.5 during winter. TVA usually runs more water during the week in the winter time and holds more water on the weekends. At least that has been the way in the past. Not good if you want to striper fish on the weekends and depend on flow.

We really need a monsoon rainy season to get water tables back up to normal.
