Blake (SDFD504) and I went fishing this afternoong ( 2:30 - 5:15 ). We fished the same areas as last week, not the same luck. We saw a lot of schooling fish, but they were not interested in what we were offering. Several boats were around us and seemed to be having the same luck. We tried CB, SB, top water, lizards, flukes..........I think I just about threw the tackle box in without much luck. The fish were coming out of the water, were definetly bass and were good size but they were not biting for usemoBang until about 5:00.

We moved to a shallow spot near Chester Frost and ended up catching three fish and missing a few more on top water baits. Blake caught the biggest fish of the afternoon, a 3 lb 1 oz largemouth on a Vixen topwater bait. emoThumbsup

I don't know if it was the bluebird skies, dropping water (down about 1-2 feet since last week) or the rain and cooler water but the fish were not as active as last week.

Thanks for the report sdfd29! I appreciate it. It helps some to know when they are inactive just as much as when the bite is on. If more members would post reports both when, and when they are not catching fish, an identifiable pattern may emerge for this area that could be useful...although like several have said in the past I think the best time to go fishing is anytime you can!

Guys we had the same luck! Plenty of fish just no takers. Fished from about 11am to 4pm and caught a few but nothing to get excited about. I tossed the entire box out to them and the only thing I managed ANY fish on at all was a Dixie SB!
