Put in at Dam around 6:00pm and headed up river. Caught five bass, all spots before the rain came in. Two of the fish were over 15 inches, the other three over 12. Caught the two largest on chatterbait in five foot of water. Caught all the others on Spotsticker with green pumpkin finesse worm. Put them all back alive.

Headed to the house when the rain started coming down...

Sounds like a decent evening. If I hear one more report that includes a Chatterbait, I just might buy one if RangerRob can't put one together soonemoPoke.

How are you fishing that chatterbait? I've fished it every way I know with no success. May not be holding my mouth just right or fish are just prefereing the plastic baits on bottom that my partner is catching them on.

I fish them pretty much the same way I do a spinnerbait. Put a trailer hook on it though, you will be glad you did. All of the hits I have gotten have been brutal.

I normally vary the retrieve to try and see what the fish are wanting. Something that I have started doing is trying to nick every bit of grass, wood, or anything else. Last night I caught them all on a medium retrieve on a 6.2:1 reel.
