I fished with Jerry Smith yesterday afternoon. It was cold and breezy and not very productive. Fished a dock in the mid portion of WT without a bite. Moved to a spring and had a couple of bite offs of minnows but no fish. Took the bait slowly like a crappie or bass but wasn't there when I set the hook. Went to a couple of docks in Harrison bay and caught one nice crappie on a Panfish assassin but just couldn't get them to bite. Went out to a submurged bluff on the main lake and couldn't get the catfish to bite on threadfins. Finally went to the backup and caught a bunch of bluegills on top of the bluff on worms in 13-20 feet. Even the bluegills were sort of off and on, usually they are so easy, yesterday was tough. The water temp in the creek was 48 and on the main lake was 51. The temp in the creek had dropped drastically from about 54 early in the week. The creek was just starting to clear in it's midportion and the last half was still muddy. Shad were packed at the creek mouth the past couple of days making it easy to catch hundreds of them. I hope to get out with a buddy tomorrow AM. See you out there.

Good report on the stats Polo. I am curious about this warm front coming thru this weekend. Do you think it will affect the water temps enough to produce a good bite ? and will the wolf get muddy again with the rain they are forcasting?  I have been wanting to take my daughter out but now they are calling for rain Monday and if it does I can't takle her out.  Would love to find somewherre sheltered to take her to stay out of the wind. I was thinking on some of the drops and places that are back in Wolftever creek.

Stripers

I know this is off subject but I can't seem to find any posts on this one. Thought maybe you guys might know something.
How has the striper fishing been below the Chick dam this winter. I have been so busy I have only be down there a couple times. I know in years past there has been some sporatic activity down there but no luck earlier this winter. Everyone I run into has not been down there either.
Thanks.

RE: Stripers

Nothing, that's what the stripe are doing below the Chick. dam. I haven't cauht one since early November back there. It's been a tough year below Chickamauga.:(

Thanks for the info on the stripers. I caught a couple of pups earlier sometime before December or early December but nothing exciting - except a huge buffalo. Thought I really hooked a good striper until I saw it come up. He was diggin down just like a striper. Maybe we will get some cold weather and consistent generation for the early spring action.
