Went out today with drc to see what we could catch. The bass on artificials were very slow as we didn't get out until about 8:30am but we started fishing with frozen, month old threadfins and the fishing was fine. drc started off with a bass between 3.5 and 4 lbs. We caught a couple of cats at our first stop, underwater bluff, as well as the good bass. Things didn't pick up so we went looking for some new places, none of which were "on" as we could see fish on the electronics but no takers. We finally ended up running up to Sequoyah and hit a couple of drops and humps up there with some good success. Caught somewhere between 15 and 20 fish, mostly cats in the 4-6lb range with drc catching one that probably went between 10 and 12 lbs, he didn't weigh it. We caught another keeper bass and a few non-keeper bass. One big crappie and a bream. I had a great day out there, great weather but most of all great fellowship. drc knows where and how to catch them but he's also great to get to know. We had some of the best dialog that I can remember about structure fishing and what he and I look for on the maps, how we break down structure once we get there and what we like to "feel" on that bottom. I had a really great time and am looking forward to the next time I get out there with him. Thanks again drc. Here's a couple of pics of the fish that he and I caught, let me tell you, it's hard to out fish this guy.

RE: Chickamauga 10/4

Nice fish! Very good report Polo. Did it seem like the water was still dropping or are they holding it now? What depth did you guys catch the crappie in?

RE: Chickamauga 10/4

The crappie was on a rock hump that was about 25-30 feet on top. Right in with all the other fish that we were catching. Cats, crappies, and bass all in the same spot. We weren't moving just casting to the same spot time and time again and waves of fish seemed to come and go on the top. Oh yeah, I forgot to say that as you can see there was some rip rap that was close by but don't let MB try to tell you that it was the rip rap that concentrated the fish. Love you MB!

RE: Chickamauga 10/4

It really is a huge fish but I held it so close to my massive body that it looks really small. drc has long arms too.

We didn't catch any big fish today, but we still had fun and learned a lot driving around the lake and trying new spots. The LM was a big bonus.... bass over 12in are rare for meemoGeezer emoBigsmile

I have yet to catch a keeper from that spot in the first picemoScratch. We find schoolers there quite often and, as fun as they are, they typically don't measure. Polo, is that the same place you caught a 3lb smallie?

Nice bass there drc, don't see many like that in the Chick much.emoThumbsup

Nice report and good fish DRC. Sounds like you and Polo had a good time.

Polo that little kitty kat couldn't have put up much of a fight, even on ulta light gear! hahahaha
