You just don't ever know what will happen when you wet a lineemoTongue. I put Sta-Bil in my boat gas tank and planned to take it out for a little while today to get some of the mixture into the outboard as part of my winterizing. It was just such a perfect day on the water. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and very little wind and on top of that temps up to the low 70's. The water temp was 52 -53 and with the bright blue sky I didn't really think I would catch anything. Well I was almost right. I only caught one and it was on the second cast of the day off a point in Harrison Bay. I was fishing a C-rigged June Bug 6" lizard in about 8 foot of water when I felt that familiar "whack - whack" and then I saw the line start to move off. As soon as I set the hook I knew it was a pretty good fish. It didn't come up, it just pulled real good and moved off to deeper water. At first I thought I had hooked a catfish, but then it started coming up and I saw it was a nice bass. It weighed 5 lbs - 8 oz. and measured 21" long. As you can see from the pics --- I hope this works --- I took them with my cell phone camera using the timer with the phone mounted on the boat rear view mirror, the fish was very healthy and had been feeding well. I released it right after the pic so we can catch it again, only bigger next time!!! It was the only fish I caught (I hooked a couple of smaller ones that got off at the boatemoRedface . I guess if I could only catch one - then this is a pretty fair fish. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. emoThumbsup

Nice fish .. wish I would have caught a bass at all yesterday ! I fished from the dam up to Harrison Bay .. only thing I caught was a shellcracker on crankabit . On the way back my engine started over heating.. I had to get back to ramp going 10-20 mph took a good hr to get backemoBang

NIce fish!!! I'm like NRG, I went out, didn't catch a thing. Fishing Fire caught one small yellow bass. That was it for the day. Couldn't even get the crappie to hit. But hey, if you are going to catch just one fish, that big ole bass is the way to go!

Hey there CCSM, bout time you posted a trip. If you are going to go and only catch one that is a nice one to catch.emoThumbsup Jmax

Great fish CCSM! The colors on that fish are really nice. Did you see much shad action out there when you were out? With the water temps like it is I would expect that the fish will pig out for a few more weeks. Were you fishing down the slope of the point or on top? Was the point near a channel? Were you marking other fish in the area?
