Hello everyone! I just found this site on Friday and thought I would join in. It is always nice to have up-to-date fishing reports.

Fished Harrison Bay State Park from the bank today in the rain and wind. Caught 10 keeper crappie (5 of which were slabs), 1 smallmouth (about a pound), 1 spot (small) and 1 yellow stripe. All fish on 1/16 oz lead head with chartruse and red gitzit on 4 lb. Fish located on wind blown, rocky point in about 5 feet of water. Fished for about 2.5 hours in same spot.

Where are the whitebass and gulls this year? I love catching them schooling on spoons in the winter!

Great post DirkV. Great to have you as a new member. Some of the guys out here have been interested in the crappie fishing in Chickamauga and now they know more what to do. I would expect that the wind blown point was on the main lake rather than the mostly clay points on Harrison bay. Was the water very clear or has the water muddied up like back in Wolftever creek?

Welcome DirkV - Great report! Fishing reports are the primary purpose of the site. Thanks for your participation. I saw some gulls swarming shad out in the bay as I drove across the Wolftever bridge on Thanksgiving...

Gulls will be here..I too have seen a few here and there...any day now they should start to crank up....Thanks for the report and kepp them coming...We all learn a litlle more with each post.

Thanks

WelcomeDirkV. I just learned about this form myself a couple weeks ago. Seems like everyone tries to help with info. Glad you caught some slabs. I've been wondering if anyone was braving the elements lately.

Same to you Gator! This is my favorite time of the year to fish. I always seem to catch my larger bass in the winter. The nastier the better, as long as the fish are biting. I only wish I still lived 1 mile from Chickamauga Lake. I am not up that way but every couple of weeks. When I do get some fishing in, I will be sure and fill you guys in on my success.
