I can't begin to top Dhaun and his son's trip but here goes....launched out oh HBSP around 10:00. Very light winds. Water temps hovering in the low 40's. Water was up a good foot with lots of debris including logs floating in the water. Ran to a slew South of HBSP and caught 2 small largemouth before catching a nice 15" Spot, all on a Pointer 78 DD in ghost minnow. Tossed the Silver buddy for a while with no luck. Decided to try my hand at a drop shot rig. This is a technique that I've never tried but should learn. Used a 3/8th oz cylinder weight and a Roboworm in prism shad. Caught my first 2 fish within 5 minutes. Unfortunately they were shellcrackers. Moved to a marina and caught 2 more shellcrackers before I landed my first bass. A dink around 10 inches. Hmmm....making progress. Caught nothing else for the next hour. Ran to a rocky point and caught my second keeper on a chartruese shad Staysee. A 15 1/2 in largemouth. My last stop was the Marina at HBSP where I caught my final keeper on the drop shot. Another 15 1/2 inch LM. Total weight fot the day was around 5 1/2 lbs. Very few boats on the water today.

I haven't used the Staysee much because I seem to do better with a Pointer 78 DD. I fish a Staysee differently than a Pointer. I caught my fish on the Pointer and the Staysee in 15-20 feet of water. I didn't fish any points with the Silver Buddy. I fished the drop shot in water from 5-12 feet.

Heck Pointer at least you got to go. Sounds like a great time out there this weekend! When you gonna hold a class on them pointers anyway?

Thanks for the info. I have been doing very well with the buddy on chunk rock points here in my area lakes. I like the smithwake deep diver with suspend dots. It seems to produce here lately. I caught several fish in the chick river below wattsbar dam saturday with a buddy. The fish were in 12'to 15' deep. thanks again!
