Decided to stay close to home today. Launched out of that awful excuse for a ramp at Wolftever. Makes you wonder what the state is doing with those parking fees. Anyways, started pitching a brown jig with a green pumpkin Paca Chunk trailer around rocks. Nothing. Started looking for laydowns back in the creek. After locating some further back, I managed to pick up 2 just measuring fish in 8-10 ft of water. Cranked a shad colored Rapala DT 6 in shallower water. Caught a half dozen smaller fish. You had to be digging up the bottom for them to bite. Yesterday, the only crank color they'd hit was brown crawfish. Was only on the water for 4 hours this afternoon. All the fish looked fat and well fed. They're getting ready for the spawn.I ran into JVS while fishing chunk rock. We talked a bit and he mentioned how bad the wind was earlier in the day while fishing with Tndoe270. It was good meeting you Jason.
