Sorry about being late posting this, I haven't had much computer time. I got to take another half a day off on Friday the 31st and took my Dad out. His 72nd birthday was 4/1 so it was special to get to take him fishing! We got on the water about 1:00 pm and man did the wind blow in Harrison Bay. You couldn't get away from it. It was even whitecapping in the back of some of the sloughs! I saw water temps from 59 to 61 degrees. My Dad caught about 15 fish or so using minnows. He had a mixed bag of drum, bass, crappie, stripe, and one bluegill. I was throwing a 3" grub on a 1/8 oz. jig head and caught 5 bass (all 11" to 14") and one big crappie. We fished Lowes slough and Wacanda Bay with our best luck coming in Wacanda Bay. Most fish were caught shallow (2' - 3'). We fished until about 6:30 and had a great time. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with my Dad. I didn't care if I caught anything as long as he had a good time and he seemed to really enjoy himself. I'm as guilty as the next guy about not taking the time to take my Dad fishing. He took the time to take me and teach me when I was a child and Lord knows he needed a lot of patience to put up with me and my brothers constant carrying on! If you are lucky enough to still have the opportunity to take that Dad or Mom or grandparent who taught you how to fish, then repay them by getting them out on the lake for a day of fun and fellowship!

Happy Fishing!

I here ya CCSM I did that with my dad a couple weeks ago and it is the fellowship that means the most. Are you ready to kick a little butt in a couple of weeks on the Nick???? We need to start some trash talk and ragging of each other. Heaven forbid if I would be guilty of that!emoLaugh emoLaugh That's half the fun of it!!!emoThumbsup Jmax

Hey Jmax,

Trash talk ---- OK --- I'm game ---- I'll say that I'll NET fish better than any of our other worthy competitors for CFF 4 - in fact --- I'm most likely one of the best fish netters ever (since I've had so much practice that is emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh ) Why I'm looking for a big time $$$$$$ offer to go pro as the designated netter half of a team that will dominate team events in this area. I'm good luck and swing a mean net emoTongue . Oh by the way, I guess that puts the pressure on you to CATCH em - so I can net em. emoRolleyes Yes I can just see it now ---- other sports have specialist - baseball has the closer - basketball has the three point shooter --- football has the kickers and the guy who will get you a few yards up the middle --- and now bass fishin has the NETTER! emoIdea I can just see the big offers coming in any day now. emoParty Why I can even see endorsment contracts rolling my way emoCool . Jim I'll do my part if you do the easy part and catch us say about a 25 lb sack for CFF4 emoEvil.

Net for Hire!

CCSM glad you got to take your dad fishing. My folks came down this past Sat. and we were just able to sit and let him relive some of the trips in the past. Kinda fun but its not like it used to be when he was able to get out and go with me. Take him ever chance you get.! emoThumbsup And as for the trash talk...GET THE NET!!! emoLaugh
