Fished a small club tournament out of Soddy Creek. We started out around Skull Island and I quickly put a keeper LM in the boat on a smallie beaver out of some pretty shallow water. Next fish came on a Sammy. My partner caught 4 or 5 more slicks in there on a Pop-R. We moved on back up river a little ways and my partner got his first keeper on the Pop-R fishing some laydowns on the main channel. We continued to catch small fish, so we ran up to Possum Creek and I immediately broke one off of the smallie beaver and a few minutes later was able to put a nice keeper KY in the boat. My partner was able to get a keeper KY on a spinnerbait and that was all the keepers we could muster up. I ended up with around 4.5 lbs, the winner a limit at almost 17 lbs & big fish was almost 6 lbs. There were quite a few smallmouths weighed in also. All in all not a bad day, and had the rained held off for about an hour, it would have a been a perfect day....sucks getting drenched at the weigh-in!!!!!!!! carl
