I ventured out to the Chick late Saturday morning for a little fishing before a family dinner on the lake. I put in at HBSP and while unloading the boat fell into the cold water (slipped off the trailer while hopping onto the boat); bruising my backside and my ego, and wetting my pants and the bottom of my sweatshit. As if this was not bad enough, I had left my change of clothes at home. I managed to put on my coat and change socks to dry my feet and continued on my way. I continued over and fished some rip rap banks with no luck. Finally found some fish on a tube bait around some docks. Next found fish holding to stumps and caught 5 largemouths, three keeper size (15-16 inches) on a solid white rattle trap. Caught one more on a shaky head and then headed over to my better half's family to tie off at their dock, eat Easter dinner, and change into some dry clothes. Managed to load without getting any wetter...Water temp where I fished varied between 58 degrees and 59.6. There was not a soul at the ramp, but I am sure someone got a chuckle from watching me tumble...

Yesterday in our work tourny a HUGE crusier was going up river throwing 3-4 foot waves. We were in Alvin's boat which is a 16.5 ft Skeeter that might weigh 700lbs. Well we made it over the first wave and once we cleared the nose of the boat was aimed straight at the bottom of the second wave. You could not have driven a pin up my rear with a sledge hammer. I just knew we were going to nose it. At the last minute the boat shifted and Alvin got his whole right side soaked. Luckly he was wearing his rain jacket as he forgot his overalls. We got lucky as we would have froze to death riding back to the dock if we had gotten wet. You are a tropper for sticking with it with a wet rear. Glad you got a few fish for your efforts.emoWorthy
