Well I managed to get off work a little early for a change and needed to check my outboard out. The last time out as I was putting the boat on the trailer in a storm I thought the engine made a knocking sound and I feared that it had injested a reed. This was a really good trip, because my engine is OK and even though I got on the water around 5:30 and got off at 8:00 I still managed to catch 12 bass. Most of my time was spent running around checking the engine out, but I did pull up on one of my favorite spots in Wolftever and the bass were there. I caught all the fish on my trusty finesse worm in about 12 to 16'. The fish were hitting very light and you had to pay real close attention as most of the time the only indication of a fish was either a moving line or a weightless feel on the line. It was hot as blazes, so I was really surprised to catch that many fish so quick. Only 3 of the 12 measured over 15" and then just barely. The others were 13 to 14 7/8" and looked real healthy. I noticed a lot of baitfish all around. I also noticed that several jet skiers actually slowed down as they passed my boat, so there is hope. Not all jet skiers are inconsiderate to us fishermen!!!! I gave them a wave and thumbs up as I really appreciated their courtesy.

Good time on the water, CCSM and catching that many bass in that short of time really is a lot of fun. I talked to 3 guys on the river this morning that were bass fishing and I asked them how they were doing and they said that they had caught about 30 bass earlier in the day.emoAngel emoGeezer

Good report CCSM. Glad to hear that you are still on them. I have an idea where you might have been catching them. Most years it doesn't seem like the fishing in WT has been so consistent but I'm glad to see it as when I have a few minutes at the end of the day to fish I don't have to run to the main lake for fish. Thanks for the report.
