Chickamauga - 75 Crappie! 3-24-2007

Fishin' Junkie and I launched just before dawn from Harrison Bay and fished until 12:30pm. We trolled 1/16 oz jigs and caught 75 crappie with 15 keepers. Lots of small fish in 8-10ft but still fun. We decided to end the day casting jigs at structure and that's how we caught our last several keepers. I was done with cleaning fish from yesterday so these went home with Fishin' Junkie today. The wind cooperated, I had a fun time, on a fine day with some great company! Water temp was 64. It was also great to see RSimms on the water today emoThumbsup

Way to go DHaun. I thought that was you out there around Rabbit Island this morning. My buddy and I hung in around there until 1:30 to get our thirty. Like you said; we caught a bunch of little fish. But could you ask for any better weather? It was perfect. I fished in insulated bibs last Sunday, but I could have used some shorts this morning. Wasn't Fishin' Junkie wearing shorts? Hope he didn't get sunburnt.

Yep enmreal that was me was there today giving it a shot. I thought that was your boat as well but was not sure. I thought for awhile it seemed like there were more boats trolling on Friday than today. I sure have a lot of fun trolling. I have been checking on certain areas since December striking out just waiting for it to be the right time. I'm not a big fish eater, but I just really enjoy relaxing with that type of fishing and having 1-2 fish frys a year. Glad to hear you all got a full limit today...you doubled what I caught. The weather was right on and the wind was just right. The dogwood in my yard is blooming and I see the forecast is near 86 tomorrow!

Well done DHaun! Looks like you got into them thick. I hope this continues for a few more weeks. I have lots of kids who are excited to go!
