Chickamauga Bass 3/31

Fished from 12:30 to 2:40 today with Jmax. He called and the first words out of my mouth were,"Do you want to go fishing"? It was breezy so we stayed in Wolftever. We got some good info from BassBullet and from 2jigs and we caught 11 bass 3-4 keeper LMs and the rest buck spots. Fished near creek channels with visible cover caught one on a rattle trap, one on a chug bug and the rest on a buzz bait. Of course I pretty much got whooped by Jmax but he did let me catch some. Here's a pic of our best fish. The ones that I caught had too much information in them to show, if you know what I mean Jim. I'll bet that you planned it that way didn't you? Anyway it was a great 2 hours of fishing! Spring has sprung! We had a total 5 fish bag of right around 11lbs.

Good job. I only managed 3 fish in wolftever today.

May have, don't remember, another senior moment! I also forgot to tell the water temp. It was 62-64 degrees, it was cloudy with a few little sprinkles here and there. I would expect that the cloud cover kept the fish shallower than they otherwise would be. The temp. being up like that is really encouraging, I hope to be out there a bunch next week. The spawn will probably be over in a month if we don't get some cold weather again and then it will be the end of real shallow fishing for me but I plan to enjoy it while I can.

That's about my luck!About the time I get busy the spawn really starts and I have to go work again instead of fish!

There were lots of people in certain areas as they were trying to stay out of the wind. There were a few boats where we were and we spoke with BassBullet a couple of times. I would expect that out on the main lake or the bay that it was very breazy.

Hey guys I am so glad Polo talked me into going. It took a lot to talk me into it, emoScratch If I remember correctly he said,"Do you want to go fishing?" and that was it I was talked into it.emoLaugh We didn't have much time so we went in the Wolf and one of the first boats we saw was Bassbullet. She suggested a place and I told Polo let's try there and I nailed the first two keepers including the one in the pic about 4 lbs right where she said. Thanks Bassbullet. The rest were very shallow, some hit in as little as a foot of water. I have been doing early buzz bait fishing for years and every year I get folks that look at me like I am not being truthful. If you wonder about me will you believe Gary Klein? Go to page 63 in the April edition of BASS and there ya go. that is what I have been saying for years.emoBigsmile He probably got it from me. I enjoyed fishing with ya polo I just love top water action.emoWorthy The spawn is getting under way and I can't wait till tomorrow at the Chick.

Those moments are getting more frequent maybe it is affecting your fishing, maybe you should work for me tomorrow, then I could go fishing at the Nick.

I guess they are lucky to remember to hook up the boat or bring fishing rods. (I actually have forgot my rods before)

Hey polo sorry about your two pics having too much background giveaway. I could have sworn that the lake side Dairy Queen was out of the picture. I guess that 6 and 7 lbers will have to wait until the next time you catch them.emoRolleyes (They are growing by the minute)emoLaugh emoLaugh Naw,...for just over two hours of fishing we had the four lber, your two good ones at I'd say 3 and 2 1/2, my other LM keeper at 2+ and then the best spot was right at I'd say a pound+. I'd take that in a lot of tournaments fishing all day.emoThumbsup Jmax
