Middle section of Chickamauga: Launched about 1:30pm. Fished til 6:15pm. Water temp ranged from 50-53 degrees. It was sunny at first then clouded up and even rained for about 15 min. then cleared up. Caught a total of 6, five came from the area where I found 53 degree water. The fish seemed to be in the main creeks off the river. Caught one on a flat in the main river near some chunk rock bank in about 3-4ft of water. Others came from the main creek along a chunk rock bank with fallen timber. Fished a 3/8 oz. War Eagle spinnerbait and 3" Culprit Water Beetle. I was just slow rolling the spinnerbait through the fallen timber and pitching the water beetle into it also. Most came from the spinnerbait. Here is a pic of a one that went 3 lbs. The rest were around 2 lbs.

RRB32, sounds like you had a good day. It sounds like you were fishing on the bank most of the time. Down here there's not that much wood in the water. I love to fish a spinnerbait in brush, I tend to use a 4 1/2 willow blade in Gold most of the time on the Chick. I always wonder if I should pare my blades down to 4 or 3 1/2s in the spring. What blades do you like? Chart/wht is my favorite color but some guys like red in the spring, ever try that color?

RRB32 sounds like a good day on the water. Where do you launch at on that side of the river? Is hte river up enough to get in good at Richland yet?

Yeah, I was fishing the banks with fallen timber. I like a 4 1/2 Silver Willow with a 4 gold willow. I've always been a fan of double willow spinnerbaits, dont throw much of anything else. The color I was using is called "Spot Remover." Here is a link to show you what it looks like: http://www.backwatersonline.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=3132

I've never tried red, maybe it would work.

I launched at Bluewater Campground. The water is still down pretty low around the Dayton Boat Dock/Richland area. I've put in there a few times but you have to be carefull heading out, its only a couple foot deep. They had a big tournament there saturday and the place was packed so I guess they didnt have any trouble getting out.
