Cat Battle King DRC and I launched before dawn at 6am and fished a drop from 25 to 40 ft using cut skipjack. By 9:30am I had experienced the most productive trip I think I have ever been on. We caught a 32 pounder (my personal best), then a 25, then a 19, then DRC hauls in a 52lb (his personal best), then 3 others between 12 and 15 pounds. I had another fish take off squealing my line alarm like a shark but never hooked it. In less than 3 hours we caught and <u>safely released</U> about 160 pounds of fish. There were other boats around catching a few here and there I assume (I was scared to look way from the rod) but DRC had us dialed in on a small area holding a stack of trophies. He made it look easy. Thanks for the trip DRC - I had a great time, learned a lot, and I appreciate it!

Nice cats and catch, David. I'm sure that DRC is "the man" when it comes to huge catfish. I hope to get out there sometime this week and look for a few fish. Good report.emoAngel emoGeezer

Like I said before, drc is "THE MAN" when it comes to catfishing. Just my opinion however. Way to go guys, two personal bests in one morning, Whoa!!!!!!!!emoThumbsup

Nice fish and pics! Sounds like a fun morning breaking all the long standing records of the two fishing. Looks like a good morning to be there too. Thanks for the report and the pics, makes me wish I wasn't working today!

I couldn't be happier! Iv'e been wanting a 50+lb fish for a long time now, usually whoever I take gets the big fish and I catch all the smaller ones. I was really hoping David would get something in the 40+lb range, but 32 is still a good fish. Looking forward to next time.emoThumbsup
Look at the mouth on that guy!

52!!! Wow! That's awesome! Way to go drc.
I thought about ya'll today... started to call. We had a good day as well... catfish are "hot." We didn't tag the "monster." But we had 150-200 lbs. of fish.... Biggest was 30 lbs. We were in the lake... Actually turning around and going back out right now with my daughter and her boyfriend. Will post some pictures later.

rsimms, I mentioned to DHaun that you might be going out this morning... I noticed you were on the board early this morning before I headed out. I assume since you fished the lake today that the bite on the river is really tough. How deep was that 30lber?

Yes Sir... I won't be returning to the tailwaters for a while. I should have abandoned them 2 weeks ago. I was slow on the draw. See today details at: http://www.chattanoogafishingforum.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3836&posts=1

And congrats again on the 52# ... that's just too cool. It looks to me like you came real close to smiling. emoBigsmile

Above.... two biggest fish daughter's boyfriend caught were TARP Fish. I've got him hyped up to go for a Master Angler I and a Master Angler II. See: http://www.state.tn.us/twra/fish/tarp/tarp.html
