FishnVol and I launched in my boat about 6:00am and fished for cats near the nuke until 11:30am. It was a little more work than I expected to get into some fish but we were able to catch 2 blues ranging from 8-12 pounds and a small flathead. I also spoon jigged up a few small striper and Largemouth bass. We saw Flip1up, LiveLiner, and PsychoFisher fishing as well. Looks like they were catching some about the same size as us, except I think PsychoFisher may have had a couple near 15 pounds from what I could tell.

After having the catfish at the picnic, I just had to have more.
I kept these four.

No live bait. I had some small live bluegill but never got to use them. I know this has to be a new one - I was using baby squid bodies stuffed with chicken liver and pinned at the top by hooking it onto a small treble hook. The squid worked like a small sack and held the liver in very well.
Now why did I go and give away my trickemoBang

Just further proves what I tell clients... blue catfish want "dead meat." I don't think they care what kind of meat it is, they just want dead meat. Obviously they're "normal" diet of dead meat is other fish... but they ain't picky. Otherwise they couldn't grow to be 100 lbs.-plus.

I bet they would even hit a nice big fresh chunk of road kill. Next time I run over a possum I might give it a try.emoUpsmile
