A new fishing buddy, my Pastor Gary Purdy, and I fished from about 9am to 11:30am and caught 10 catfish. Over half were above 5 lbs and Gary caught the biggest two, one about 14 lbs the other 11-12 lbs. Lots of bites and activity out there. TVA was good to us with good flow the whole time. Fished only two spots, one in a main lake eddie and one that is a 50 foot on top hump in the main channel. It drops from 50 feet on top into 65+ feet above and below it. Tried for big fish there with a bluegill but didn't get a bite. Only fished there for 15-20 minutes. We had a great day and as usual I was out fished. We did catch a 3lb LM and about a 1 1/2 lb smallie too. All fish were caught on shad that I caught Tues. and froze. Free bait guys, it's out there. As we headed home, big balls of bait dotted the surface and so the bait is available even in the middle of the day now. Here are some pics. I filleted some for Gary to take home and they looked really good.
