It is painfully obvious them rascals aint good to eat! If they was edible there would not be near as many flying around!emoHungry

Crappie fished from 10:30am till around 3:40 pm. Caught two short fish and never boated a keeper.

Tight lined minnows, trolled with jigs, cast RoadRunners off points, ect......

Just a plain pitiful day of fish catching for me!

Saw some schools of baitfish in WT that was absolutely amazing at the size!!!

Did get to meet rsimms as I was launching the boat today! I sure hope he does not post up that he caught a nice mess of fish today!emoBang

I guess I will continue to try and catch cold weather Crappie until turkey season opens, then ........

Start back Crappie fishing when I dont have to wear a COAT!!

Hawg Caller - I mean Jack, RSimms and I trolled right through all those birds and bait. It was a great sight to see so much activity and relax in the sun with very little wind. I thought for sure our heads would be decorated with gull poop but we just trolled right through them enjoying the morning and never got hit. Just being out there was nice but it was certainly a slow day...If you never go you never know.

Ask and you shall recieve!!

Thanks DHaun!!JemoThumbsup

Upon my request David deleted a non-posting "Jack" from many moons ago and changed my username!

I now feel much better posting as Jack, instead of Hawg Caller!

But I still did not catch any fish today!!JackemoBang

Thanks again David!

Jack, I would try to fish vertical structure or some cover that you find near the huge balls of bait that are at the mouth and middle of Wolftever creek. I think that some of the fish are just moving around under the bait balls but I would expect that those fish will be hit and miss fish and hard to stay in contact with. That's what has been working for me when I've targeted the specks recently. If you are like me, I tend to have more confidence in casting at something that I know might hold fish and just haven't been much of a troller. I do drop bouys onto structures and cover that I see out in open water and it gives me confidence that there are fish there to catch.

Hey Jack, HawgCaller... whoever you are. emoConfused Glad to cross paths.... appreciate you hollerin' at me. We cross-crossed on the water several times. It was pretty obvious we were all "huntin'" and not "findin'" emoBang Here's everything we put in the boat, with the exception of a bunch of bluegill. If I can't catch crappie, I always have to go get a "bluegill fix."

Hey Jack were you the guys with the orange markers out? We passed by you trolling in the blue Tracker.
No, Jack was in a camo boat and motor. The guy with markers out was a friend of mine from Cleveland. They started real early, in the cold. They caught 8 crappie and 8 bass (2 keeper bass).

Polo,

I agree 100%!!!

Trolling for crappie is also way down my list as the most fun way to catch them!

But Carl had a big ziplock bag full of skillet fried chicken! We were fishing hard and catching nothing!

We got hungry! We trolled!emoLaugh

Somewhere on the bottom of Chickamauga there is a big ole snappin' turtle chewing on the remnants of a chicken leg having a really good day!!
