Nothing, Nadda, Zero, Zippo!!

Put in at Wolftevor at 10:00am and fished until 4:00pm. Not one crappie was boated by us today.

Most folks I talked to were also catching NOTHING! One boat had caught 2 crappie.

The folks that got there early were leaving in droves by noon.

In hindsight, I shouda left at noon also.emoBang

Fished with everthing but the kitchen sink!

Tube jigs, shiners, trolled, ect.......

Saw lots of fish and bait balls on the fish finder, just could not find any fish that wanted to eat something!emoScratch

The water was a little stained in color, but not muddy!

I blame this pitiful trip on Carl's boat!! We go in my boat.........Catch fish.....We go in Carl's boat......just pitiful! emoLaugh

Sounds like a classic case of the scientific condition called LOCKJAW! In times of need like that I break out the TNT..they tend to cooperate when that method is used!

Maybe this cooler weather will get them bunched up more and ready to feed a bit.

It's interesting how the fish are on and off. I still am just not comfortable with trolling for crappies as I don't have a set up right now for multiple rods. Suspended fish to me are inactive fish, even though I know that's not entirely true. Maybe when the easy fish /suspended fish aren't biting the thing to do is to find an isolated structural element that seems to have fish on it and fish that small spot well. Like JerDog has said, maybe anchoring to stay on a spot is the thing to do. When I've done the best is when I see fish maybe a foot or so off the bottom on a point or other structure right up next to the channel drop. Fish that are suspended up 4-10 feet off the bottom usually aren't active and so I don't try to force feed them. I have been surprised from time to time however that I get a fish when I retrieve my bait up through suspended fish but that doesn't happen very often.
