Launched the boat at Wolftever today. It was raining so hard we fished under the bridge for 45 minutes. Caught one 12" crappie on a shiner.

Rain let up some and we headed back into WT to fish some boat docks. Most of the docks were in 12' of water. Flipped tube jigs and fished with shiners. Never got a bump.

Headed back to fish the channel, fished in 18' of water with tube jigs and shiners. Did not catch a fish.

Motored around some points close to the State Park and found a big brush top in 23' of water. Caught 14 nice fish using a red/char tube jig with a small shiner on the jig.

15 total for the afternoon. The weather was just plain awful.

Was that you guys in the camo jon boat hiding under the 58 bridge? I was out in my sea kayak yesterday during the monsoon. Lovely day.

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahhahahahhaha!!

RB your post made my day!! Yes that was Carl and I! In a Camo WarEagle boat!

You came gliding by in almost complete silence! A few moments before you came under the bridge, we were talking about what idiots we must be for going fishing in this awful weather!

After you passed us, we were wondering why in the heck a fellow would go on a "Pleasure Kayak Cruise" in the pitifull weather!

You inspired us to brave the elements!emoLaugh Shortly after you passed, we left the safety of the bridge, and headed to fish some docks in the downpour!

At around 5:00pm the bottom fell out! Rained as hard as I have ever seen it rain!

I just have to ask one question here.........WHY in the world were you out in a kayack in that downpour???emoLaugh

emoUpsmile As the old saying goes, "You gotta be tough if you're gonna be stupid." I'd say that held true for all three of us. I just have this nervous twitch to get out when the weather is at it's worst. I've kayaked in the snow, pouring rain, at night, and even paddled one day a few winters ago when it was 19 degrees. That particular day I paddled from HBSP up to the nuke and back. One of my favorite times to backpack is when the smokies are just getting pelted with snow. At least while I'm sealed up inside my kayak I can stay relatively warm and dry. I get out in my kayak alot - especially in the winter when the water is down - to scout areas to fish. I can see alot from that kayak and make notes of areas to hit later when the water is up.

I should've known it was a fellow CFF'er out there in that junk! Sorry I didn't say 'howdy' but I was a little pre-occupied with that stout headwind coming across the bay straight into my intended path! Next time...
