Chickamauga Crappie 12-27-06

My bad Richard. Decided to do some crappie fishing this morning after doing the Christmas and working thing for the weekend on most of last week. Got out at daylight and had my limit by 11:45. My biggest today was 15 inches. Caught them on 1/32oz red/yellow/yellow and 1/16 oz black/bubblegum/green jigs while wearing a red Georgia Bulldogs t-shirt. Caught them from 8ft-25ft. Drumking what time was supposed to be the best today? I did the best from daylight till 8 and then from 11-11:45. My buddy that was supposed to have went with me this morning must have been comfortable this morning and decided to not wake up. Jeff, you missed some good crappie today.

It has to be the shirt. Richard, if you would just wear a Georgia shirt your catch would go up 10 fold, mine did. I have heard people say that fish are attracted to red hooks. The crappie see the red shirt and they can't stay out of my boat.

Paulj, my casio watch (which never lies) reported to me that 6:30 AM was the peak which means that the fish went active around 6:00 and moved until about 9:00. Then another movement at 12:40. (That was the time that MrWhiskers and I were catching the few fish that we caught. We didn't get out until 10:00. Looks like the watch was right again. Dead zone between 9:00 and 12:00 and than after 2:30 pm.
