Went down below the dam today for a couple of hours and filled up a 5 gallon bucket with skipjacks to vacuum seal for bait. I did the best on a red tube jig with a chartreuse tail with a 3/16 oz jig head. Not really fancy but it worked. There were a couple other guys down there that were just catching them for fun and they threw theirs in with mine. Jason if you read this thanks for the extra bait!

I saw the folks catching skipjacks (one might have been you). We left about 1:00. I was glad to see skipjacks... the threadfins are bound to starting dispersing soon, but skipjack will hang in there for the summer.

I got there about 130 so I would have just missed you. The fishing here is amazing back home I can only catch skipjacks for a couple of weeks in may usually at the chickohominy dam. There are also alot of smaller skipjacks which suprised me I bet you can catch a bunch of big ol stripers on the smaller guys.
