I went today and tryed to striper fish but the place where i catch most of my fish is off limits i don't understand why they need so much room. it's really going to make it hard to land or chase a 50 plus pound fish down.I can't be the only one that has noticed what they have done you can't even stay in the river channel 800 yard's from the locks it's also going to screw up your boat if you pick the wrong bridge trussel to go through.

I was down there bank fishing from the Hixson side and I saw a bunch of new things. I hope that much of the no boat area will be only during the construction time and not after the lock is finished. There are a ton of boats down there right now and lots of stuff going on. What's with that big rock pile? I would expect that they are just storing it there but that would make a good eddie area if they leave it as long as it doesn't get your lower unit.

Thanks for the heads up..
Wondering if you guys could be more spacific on where the no boat area is . Im planning on bringing my daughter up there to brim fish in the slack waters next to the generators monday, She is on spring break..emoScratch
Thanks

Yeap, the lock project is fixing to kick into high gear. That large rockpile that you can see is not all of what is there. There is much more just beneath the water that you cant see. There will be many more of the large steel cells constructed. The rock pile will continue to grow. The reason for limiting the boat traffic area is there is fixing to be a lot of underwater drilled shafts constructed.

Which RR bridge trussel is the best to use? The ones on the Hixson side have rocks just under the water!

i used the second one from the riverwalk boat dock side, that seems to keep me off the sand bar below trussel.

I was just up there Monday night and only my second time on that area of water. Saw the bouys that said NO BOATS, and we fished them. No one was out there and they weren't working. Lots of boats were fishing that area. If you have any doubts about running up there, don't go until you get to see that area with someone who knows it as I did. It's a mine field. But we buzzed right up the channel markers up past the RRX and it was fine. Those rock piles are for the cofferdam from what I've read. And you are right... there are huge piles of rocks along that line of the new cells they built. Be careful down there.... hope the fish don't mind!
