Whywecatchsomany and myself went to our secret hole last night around 9:15 and fished until about 10:40. We did not fare so well. I believe last weeks cooler weather and a slight droppage of the water level had them skeeered.

We caught 1 smallmouth about 15 inches long, one baby drum, and 5 largemouth one of which was what I will start calling an "LES" (legal EATING size) as opposed to the term "keeper".

Ooh, can't wait for the ribbing on that one!

We caught them in 4 ft or less of water on dark colored tube jigs. I did throw a Yum Dinger briefly with no success.

I am really interested in finding other spots that are similar to your "secret spot", I am not interested in going to your spot but finding some of my own here in Harrison. I know that your "spot" is in the Hixson or other north river side so can you characterize the spot in a way where we can look for similar on other parts of the lake or other lakes?

If this hole is so hot why dont you guys fish any tournaments. there are some really fun dogfights out of Harrison as well as Chester Frost, I think most of them will kick off next month. I'll post and let everyone know when they kick off. They are inexpensive and fun. The one I fish in Harrison has alot of guys and they often pay up to 5 places.

churly, last night my buddy and I did not get free until around 9:00pm. Most dog fights have already begun by then. It is tough for us to get out much before that due to various other activities usually relating to family matters. Luckily, our "secret hole" is very close to where we live and we do not have to be in a boat to fish it. We have permission to fish in a private area.

Besides, it ain't no better than any other spot on the lake. We've busted as many times as we've succeded on it. Timing and conditions mean everything.
