Decided to take the day off and take the old-man fishing. After seeing all the crappie reports, I had to try it. We only managed 3 crappie and lost count of the yellow stripe. Tied on a rattle trap and caught 3 bass within 15 minutes. All were in less than 4 feet of water. Caught a small spot and several bream on the bluffs.
That was it except for a few drum and a beautiful day on the water.

I did not look while in that cove. Surface temp was 54 F around Island Cove Marina, so I would guess a little warmer.

The bass acted lethargic, did not want to jump. They did want to eat, the second fish had the rattle trap almost down his throat.

DV, nice looking fish. I was hoping that the bass were starting to move shallower. 54 degrees is perfect in my thinking.
