I'm sure my little brother will be excited about this one..... is open to the public to fish or is just those who are invited?

Oops... I just learned it is "Invitation Only"

My apologies... article edited to reflect that "You can e-mail Ben Austin at [email protected] regarding inquiries for participation in the tournament."

I didn't get an invitation and I fly fish... emoBawl emoBawl

Apparently I am not worthy of an invitation. I am just a fly tyer who knows how to cast and I mainly fish for the exotic species... like bream!!! emoLaugh

Seriously, I am glad to see an event like this as it will bring attention to the warmwater fly fishing in the Chattanooga area and raise some funds for a worthy cause. emoThumbsup

I wonder if they will have rod length limits (like BASS and FLW) being under 8' since this is a tournament?

emoSorry

Apparently, I spoke too soon. I did get an invitation today, so someone out there thinks I can fly fish… emoThumbsup

I don't have a boat, so if anyone gets an invite and wants to fly fish this tournament and needs a partner, have rod and will travel. emoSmile

Pricey TX to enter, but the proceeds goes to Children's Home, all the fly guys I know dont have a boat lol .. unless its a white water boat, or belly boat lol

That seems to be the issue.

I know lots of guys who have a drifter, but no one with a boat with an "actual motor" on it, not to mention a live well...

Could be interesting....

actually gentleman, there are many local anglers who have well equipped "typical" bass fishing boats or well equipped customized john boats or skiffs for fishing either conventional or fly fishing gear. the idea of chasing bass with a fly rod with all the other same gear has really caught on in the last few years and is becoming more and more popular every season.

this inaugral Chattanooga Bass Bug Classic has come together very well with the help of the city of Chattanooga and other local people interested in helping to give underprivileged children the opportunity to fish. the committments from local and non-local anglers in the last two days has been exciting.

we look forward to continuing this tournament annually in an effort for anglers to give back to the community, to compete in a well-organized event amongst a high level of skill, and to promote yet another great way to enjoy bass fishing in our local rivers.

please remember to contact ben austin, manager of choo choo fly & tackle, at 423-267-0024 or at [email protected] to further inquire about participation in this tournament.

thank you,

mac mcgee
