Got out Saturday morning with my son in law, Jordan. This was our first trip in a very long time. Put in at HBSP and was surprised to see that there were a few trailer parking places available. Got on the water about 7:20 am and went a short distance to a shell bed area. Nothing much was happening so we moved to fish some rocks. Water temps were middle 80s, it was calm wind and water clarity was pretty good in spite of some recent rains. Jordan caught the first two bass on a spider grub. We ended the morning about 11:00 am with 9 fish in the boat. Nothing big, mostly spots but had a really good time. Fish were caught anywhere from 1' to 14' and all on soft plastics fished on or near the bottom. It was really good to get out with Jordan, I'm very proud of my son in laws and am thankful for them. I was very pleasantly surprised that the boat traffic seemed to be less than normal for a Saturday on the Chick, maybe school starting has cut down on some of it, don't know but glad emoParty . Anyway we picked up our wives after lunch at the park and took my grandson Porter for a boat ride. Again I really didn't think we would have been able to run around like we did, especially since we were in my Aluminum boat but boat traffic was not too bad. All in all a great time on the water with family.
