I Decided to go after work for a few hours on the spur of the moment. It sure was a nice evening with plenty of sunshine and calm winds. Flow was set to be around 30K but I think it was less when I started, probably more like 20K. Anyway I was glad I went, I decided to try a main lake area where fish are known to school and I caught 3 nice bass on my first 4 casts! I managed to boat 13 total. All on soft plastics. Nothing big, just solid 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb fish with one that would have went maybe 3 1/2 to 4. My best 5 would have only went around 12 lbs. I had a great time out, water temps were low 80s and the water clarity was very clear. Not a lot of people out which was nice. I saw a lot of baitfish and some jumping fish but they wouldn't hit anything I threw their way including top water. It seemed that as the evening got later and the flow reduced so did the bite. Happy fishing and be safe.

"Old Timers" - speak for yourself buddy emoLaugh I ain't old, I'm just experienced and that's my story emoThumbsup . Yep, I manage to get out every once in a while. Stay pretty busy with the Grand Kids activities but getting out and wetting a line is still a passion. I hope to be able to share fishing trips with my Grand Kids as they get a little older (more experienced, LOL). I hope to get out with one of my Grandsons one evening this week. He is 7 and loves to fish. GDaddy will leave his stuff at home and focus on helping him catch a bluegill or three if all goes well.

One thing about this last trip that I had forgotten was just how much less crowded (still plenty of people just not a mob) there is on the Chick through the week compared to the weekend. I had a great time and am hoping to use the aluminum boat I keep in the garage ready to go for more spur of the moment evening trips. I hope you and Linda are doing well. Don't catch all of those Arkansas bass, leave some for others emoDance
