I haven't been in a while and had to get a fishing fix so I headed to Harrison Bay Sunday evening. Should have went to Riverpark emoBang . It seems that everyone is social distancing on a boat on Chickamauga. At least for me, it was for the most part unfishable Sunday evening. I had to hang on to my seat post to keep from being thrown off the front of the boat several times. Water temp was around 88 degrees, clarity very good, TVA was pulling some water to power all the AC needed due to the hot weather. Hot weather, did I mention it was really hot emoBang . I caught a smallie on the rip rap on Highway 58 right on the bank. It was about 15" and fought like a much larger largemouth emoParty . I moved to deeper water looking for schoolers but the waves from all the boat traffic was just too much. I managed to land a 2 1/2 lb LM and after 4 hours of fighing the waves and getting beat to death when I moved any distance I decided to call it a day around 6:00 pm. Both fish caught on soft plastics T-rigged. I'm glad I got out and am thankful that I didn't get skunked but more and more I'm learning that until all the pleasure boaters end their season that trying to fish the lower Chick on the weekends is a hard thing to do emoScratch .
