I have to post the ugly if I'm going to post the pretty! I launched out of HBSP about 6:50 am on Saturday morning the 3rd. My first stop was to fish some rip rap with no luck. I moved to some wood in pretty shallow water (2' to 6') and nothing. I moved to a pretty big grass area where the grass extended to 10' depth or so and had a couple of weak bites but no hookups. I met my wife at the park for lunch and a boat ride with friends before going back out and fishing another couple of hours. I ended fishing deep water looking for schooling fish but again nothing. Total for the day 2 for sure bites, one maybe bite, ZERO fish in the boat or even on the hook:-( Skunked and it stunk:-( Been a long time since I fished for any length of time and couldn't at least get a spot in the boat but Saturday was that kind of day for me. I'm sure there were plenty of people catching them like crazy somewhere on the lake that day. Water temps started at 82 in the morning and finished around 86. Water clarity was very good around 4 or 5 feet. There wasn't much wind and on up in the day there was decent water flow. Should have been a good day of catching but at least I got out and enjoyed being on the water with a fishing rod in my hand. Lunch with my wife was great and got to go for a boat ride with friends from church small group in their big bow rider which makes me want one! Be careful there are a lot of people on the water and they are going all different directions.
