Decided to take a rare 1/2 day off from work to get my Lowe 17HP out for the first time this year, do a little prefishing for our event on Saturday and then pick Mark up for some crappie fishing. Well the first thing I noticed was that there was a million people out  . I got launched and in the water about 3:00 and started off bass fishing to try to find some fish for Saturday. Didn't have much luck. The sun was high and hot and I think the fish had already been beat up pretty good. I'm sure my lack of success had nothing to do with my skill level emoBang - that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway I only caught 1 bass which weighed about 3 lbs off of a stump in very shallow water before I started crappie fishing. Water temps ranged from 68 to 72. Clarity in the creek was stained while in Harrison Bay it wasn't bad. I picked Mark up at the dock and we went to a couple of known crappie hangouts and the action was slow until right before dark. It picked up enough to be interesting but wasn't fast and furious like some of our spring crappie adventures. We managed to put 16 nice fat keeper crappie in the livewell which I released to the fillet knife emoParty . I always enjoy fishing with Mark, he has taught me a lot about crappie fishing emoThumbsup . I hope everyone catches a lot of fish on Saturday at CFF#3 just not quite as much weight as Jmax and myself emoBigsmile .

Sounds like fun James. Going tomorrow myself to try out the riverpark. I hope the wind stays relatively calm. Good luck tomorrow!
