Christopher J. Robertson "Never Give Up" Benefit Tournament Aug 27th CFP - Results(pics added)

It was a sunny and windy day on the Chick for the Christopher J. Robertson Benefit Tournament. 22 boats showed up to participate, and several others came by to view the weigh-in, eat some food, and donate to helping Chris. The last total I saw was a little over $2600 had been raised for Chris. I told Seth I would post this, and am sure I am going to leave out someone, but here is a shot at thanking all those who donated products/time to the tournament:
Nuclear Rods...with Jmax/Damon Taylor on the rods.

Thanks for posting partner. Had a great time at the weigh in. The food was fanatatic. Had my first key lime pie cupcake. A huge thank you to all the sponsors. I will be sure to patronize them when needed.

Seth you did a great job in MCing the event as well as putting it together. Thanks for the posting of results. Is someone going to post the pictures? I have been looking and do not think I missed them? It was a good time for all and great to be able to visit. emoThumbsup Those cupcakes were good, I do not need to be around those very often, might mess up my figure. emoBigsmile Jmax

Had a great time as well Seth. Those burgers were awesome! Cant help but think however, I thought there would be alot more boats with no other txs going on. Could have been a really big deal. Thanks for all the work and effort from everyone not just fishermen and CFFers but all the volunteers involved. Great day on the water.

Unfortunately this area is bad about charity tournaments not drawing very many people. :( Too many look at the bass as a resource to get a check in a paying event, they do not want to "use" their spot and bass for no return. Been here eight years now and so far the ones that do not "pay out" well do not seem to draw many boats. Then if you use part of the money to pay out with, that money is less going to the charity. emoScratch Can't win on these tournaments unless you get some big donations to pay out and then you may draw a big crowd but not a sure thing even then. emoConfused I know there were several that could not make it honestly, some of them donated and helped, but some were just not interested due to the money all going to Chris's family. emoDoh This is not directed to anyone in particular so do not read more into this then it is...just an observation over eight years.

I think for what it was worth Seth and everyone did great! Over $2,600.00 raised for Chris's family is wonderful. Every dollar will help. That was not a bad turn out for a charity event for this time of year. emoWorthy Jmax

There was actually another benifit tournament going out of Grasshopper Creek For a family whose home had burned down recently. $2600 is a great job when you consider the lack of planning time and lack of major sponsors. You guys did great!

It was a great turnout! My goal was 20 boats (which we exceeded-woo hoo) 30 would have been awesome, there wasn't enough planning time to get a lot of BIG sponsors. I can't say enough thanks to all who volunteered, donated prizes, donated money, fished the tourney, and just gave moral support. With the economy the way it is I understand lack of participation with little reward. Im sure some people worry if the money would all be accounted for (which it was-EVERY last dime went to Chris). I do not hold it against anyone who didn't show up or donate, but I DO APPRECIATE ALL WHO DID. I cannot say enough about our fishing community and friends and family. This was a big turnout in my book and I will never have enough thank yous to give a way! Jim thanks for your help and the rods you and Damon were able to donate to the winners!!!!!

Dont forget Teddy Owensby. He worked his butt off behind the scenes to recuperate fish, fizz if needed and try to give evey fish the best chance to make it out alive. He does this in every CBA I guess and the mortality rate is very low. Very impressive amount of support for short notice and did I mention the burgers? Fun day.

Teddy is the man! emoWorthy I went back there and told him any dead ones I would take home. I went back after the event was over and there was only one...yes one!..that was floating. The others had swam off. emoThumbsup I did not mess with the one, I left it for the turtles. It is a good one in that kind of weather to only have one die that you know of. Teddy did a great job. emoToast Jmax
