I dont know of any but I have really been wanting to fish there. Do you have any info on the boat restrictions for that lake? I tried callind City of Lafayette but they didnt have a clue what I was talking about.

FJ's right about trolling motor only. Don't even start your big motor. I fished tournaments there for 3 years and was told by all the locals that you were supposed to cover your lower unit with a large plastic bag to keep any oil or gas pollutants from entering the water. We never did it and didn't get caught but you know how that goes.

The ramp usually has a deep rut close to the middle. If you staddle it you'll be ok as long as the water level is not extremely low.

Lonnie Dudley and Marty Simpson ran the tx last year. I've tried calling him but the number is no longer good. Carl Middleton ran them for several years before that. You might try reaching him at 706-638-6724. He'll probably be fishing them and know who to put you in touch with. They usually have their first tournament in mid to late February.

The lake can be tough at times but when it's good it's common to catch some big bass. Some of the largest I've ever seen, and caught, have come from there.

Good Luck.

There is a baitshop on 27 called tailspinners. he runs the tourneys now and he can tell u everything u need to know... including how to catch some of those big bass.

Thanks for the info, I had heard about the bag, guess when I go I will try to keep one in my boat.

I dont think I would worry too much about the bag. There arent that many game wardens trolling around. I have never seen anyone bag their motors there.
