what you guys got to clean your screens.. im looking for something i can brew up here at the house and put in a spray bottle and keep in the boat..

I use windex. The bottle states that it's screen safe and I haven't had any problems. Just don't use an abrasive cloth or towel to wipe with.

take a 2oz spray bottle and put in a couple drops of dishwashing liquid then fill with 91%alcohol,spray this on your screen and wipe off, this will remove the grit and grim off the screen.but this will not remove the calcium and water spots.to remove this take a paper towel and soak in vinager, then place this completely over the screen and let set a couple of min, then remove and dob any excess vinager off,do not rub it off as any excess calcium might scratch the screen.after you have dried all the vinager off take your alcohol and spray alittle on the screen and dry with a non abrasive cloth.
I saw Stacey King do this on the Bass Pros show,i tried it and it works great,it will make your screen look like new.

Place a wet paper towel on screen and let set for a minute then wipe it clean, It helps remove those hard water spots too.

For regular cleaning I use Krystal Vision. If the screen has water spots mix some white vinegar and water about 50/50 and soak a paper towel in it then lay it on the screen, leave it about 45 minutes or so then remove it. Go back with a clean microfiber towel and wipe it off, works like a charm.

Most of the screens have a protective coating on them and if you use anything abrasive or a really harsh cleaner it could damage the screen.

... gonna try that, Thanks! I already use Krystal Vision

Windex Multi-Surface with Vinegar is approved by Humminbird not to harm the len's protective coating.

You can buy a big bottle for a few bucks...I found a small spray bottle I keep in the boat and refill.

Something to consider for anyone is a screen protector. I am really picky about my electronics and always put a screen protector on them. When I bought my 998csi I noticed the water spot problem right away so it has one on it. A very good one to have is made by ZAGG. The make protectors for about anything. As far as I am concerned there is not a better protector available. These protectors are very thick and have a slight "rubbery" type feel and seem to be very impact resistant. Wipe them down with any type of glass cleaner or water even. They don't list one for the 998 so I just ordered the one for the 997 since it is the same size screen. The ZAGG is a very good investment for any type of electronic. They work very well for touch screen devices also. My EVO phone doesnt even know its on there.

I was wondering about that myself and I know how well they work on touch screen phones but I didn't know they made them big enough for graphs...where did you find them and could you post a link on where we can find them?

I bought my last one off amazon.com. Zaggs website is www.zagg.com/. Also, if they dont have the device you own listed, you could buy one for something larger and trim it to fit. But that might give you wome warranty issues with ZAGG. I emalied them about my 998 and they said that they would still warranty the protector even though it is listed for a 997. They may have added the 998 to the list since then.
