I have a G3 HP 180 and noticed some mildew the other day on the seats. The owners manual suggests using 303 Protectant and Cleaner to clean them but it is hard to find not to mention expensive. What do you guys use on your seats ?
The 303 website has some good info on how to clean vinyl. They even tell you how to make up you own solution from home that will help get rid of mildew stains. Of course in the end they are gonna suggest using 303 protectant. It is really good stuff. Very good UV protection and lasts longer than Armor All. Keeps the vinyl very soft and shiny. But of course it is expensive!
Mr. Clean's "Magic Eraser" pads will take off the mildew. I have had good luck with Meguire's Flagship Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. I get it at the Gander Mtn store up here. I would avoid Armoral if I were you.
I thought I would add some info to this thread about vinyl seats in case you happen to have a rip or hole in a seat. I had a seat get a tear in it from a catfish flopping off a weigh scale and the fin just dug right into the seat. I thought about using glue or tape to just do a patch job but then found out about www.fibrenew.com/Chattanooga. They will come to your house / marina / wherever and get your vinyl seat looking like new again. I called them around noon one day and had my seat repaired that afternoon. It is a little "pricey" but I was very pleased with the results.
