I'm looking for somebody who might volunteer a fishing spot for a co-worker, Greg Miles. Greg lives in the Cleveland area and has a five-year-old with a new Scooby Doo rod, itching to catch a fish.

Greg isn't a fisherman himself, but really wants to take the youngster somewhere close-to-home and simple where he stands a good chance of catching a bluegill or something.

If anybody knows of anything you're comfortable volunteering, let me know and I'll pass it along to Greg.

PM if you prefer.

Richard,
Have him check with the M&M Mars plant. They have a pond near the baseball / softball diamonds. They let the Cleveland Jr's bass club fish there a couple of times. It is well maintained with a walking track around it. Everyone caught fish as well.

Thanks... I think you might have meant to post this one another thread, but... I'm catching gar on lures made by Gar Man Jack: http://www.garmanjack.net/

But fact is, it's pretty easy to create homemade lures, by unraveling and combing out a soft nylon rope.

FYI, my article in the Times Free Press tomorrow (8/3) is about gar fishing.
