We put into today again at Kingston City Park. We went directly across from the ramp and tried for some Crappie in the blow downs, grandpa caught the only fish, a small largemouth. We tried some boathouses, and nothing. The water was alot more murky than yesterday and the current was heavy.

We motored up to the Steam Plant and began casting and trolling jigs in the cove to the left of the Steam Plant. We caught a nice 12' Crappie, several small bass, rockfish, and this nice Largemouth. There were several people catching skipjack in the eddies for rockfish bait... didn't see any really large rockfish caught. The water temperature at the Steam Plant was an even 60 degrees.

Today was a BEAUTIFUL East Tennessee day...

Its been a few years since I've been. My buddy did catch a really nice Rockfish there, but all I caught was skipjack. I have talked to several folks who do well fishing for Sauger there too. The old world record blue cat (112) was caught in the area.

i've been wanting to try it out for stripers this winter, but so far when i could go the wind has been pretty strong out of the west....that part of the river gets MIGHTY rough with a west wind!

You are exactly right... we went sauger fishing last Monday night and there was a very strong NW wind, and I was getting very nervous, so we decided to take it in.

Let me know if you make it down this way, and i'd love to meet you on the river.

drop me an e-mail if you want to meet on the water sometime...i've mainly been fishing the tailraces(wheeler, wilson, guntersville) concentrating on stripers the last couple of years, but i like catching just about anything.
