is it hard on motors to run them when the temp is 27 and lower. you see the way i think is that you runit and get water in it, then trailer it and drive home at this temp then add wind. how would you know you got all the water out and its not gonna freeze and do damage. just bought a new boat and maybe a little over cautious but its cold here and i want to get it on the water for the first time goin nuts but still dont wanna hurt it either

Just lower your motor and let it drain before you drive home and it show be fine. I am concerned that I can't get mine up to normal operating temp in the winter. It idles around 70 degrees and won't get above 87 degrees regardless of speed.

will do thanks for the help. now if all he snow and ice would kindly go away and stay gone i would be good to go. didnt think about that first and pulling a boat in the snow sucks bad.figured that out lastnite when i got stuck and had to get a motel room because of the snow when i was coming home from the coast of nc with my new boat. anyway , thank you

DO NOT START IT EITHER!!! I see so many people pull them out and start them thinking they are helping. Every engine I know of is designed to drain when vertical. Like Beetle said. Trim it down and give it time to drain. Also give it some time to warm up. Don't put it in and take off WOT when cold. You could stick a piston especially if someone has installed a wiseco in it. We don't call them "SIEZCOS" for nothing!!
