Hello all, my name is Justin and I am a 21 year old in Hixson and I'm studying Accounting at UTC. And yeah that's about it.
My name on here is Terra Firma because I don't have a boat other than my whitewater kayak (my other love). I've been bank fishing for bass since I was 12 years old. I've been dock fishing for little sunfish since I could hold a pole. I fish private ponds in my neighborhood, and I have my little hidey holes along the banks of Chick Lake. I'm wanting to hit up lake Junior a bit in my kayak, so I can reach the spots others can't, and I'm always interested in learning and finding new honey holes. I have a Hummingbird Smartcast fish finder and it's own pole dedicated to it, so that gives me a good edge.
Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE a boat, and I jump on the chance to fish off of one. I just don't have one, and don't have the time, money, or space for one. One day...one day...
My claims to fishing fame are my autographed Bill Dance Tennessee Hat (yuck, I'm an Auburn fan since birth), the 30" barely legal greater Amberjack I caught in Destin, FL just a few weeks ago, the time I got catch of the week when I was 14 for a 5 lber I managed to pull out of the pond behind my house, and the 6.5 lb bass I managed to get on a spinnerbait at summer camp haha. Oh yeah, I have two baitcasters I fish with. Both are BPS Xtreme combos (a great combo, btw. It's definitely the best bang for your buck combo you will ever find, and I'm not the only one who thinks so). One was a gift from my grandmother when I was 13. The other I won at the Fish N Fun Derby thing B.A.S.S. puts on each year when I was 14. I won it with a 1 lb 2oz bass, and as far as I know, I was the only kid to catch a bass that whole day.
There's my fishing story. It's good to be here
