guys I'm part of some research for rod and reels, give me some feedback qhats important to you from cost ,value everything, ive got to turn this in by Thursday night. Let me know what you look for

For rods it is sensitivity first, action second. Reels, weight, speed, bearings, capacity and price.

rods: spiral wrapped guides, preferably micros after the collector, proper action for the technique intended and then price

reels: frame construction, preferably metal, gear ratio & spool depth/capacity(depending on intended technique), handle size and then price

For rods, I want to be able to feel the rod blank while I am holding it in a normal grip position. Sensitivity is most important. Not to concerned about the price. You usually get what you pay for. For reels, I prefer left handed reels.
The more bearings the better. The drag and reel must be smooth. Again I am not to concerned about the price. Hope this helps.

Rods- sensitivity, construction, guide spacing, spined and price
Reels-solid frame, aluminum, line capacity, handle length, ballbearings/tolerances, drag, weight, price

Rods in this order of importance: sensitivity, action suitable for intended technique, quality handle material / comfortable in the hand, warranty - reputation of rod company, price

Reels in this order of importance: Long term durability and being smooth for the long haul (not # of bearings as a cheap reel frame and / or lack of precision machining can be covered up by a bunch of bearings to tie everything together) is #1, availability of different sizes and left hand on bait-casters, Ergonomics related to how does the reel fit my hand and does it cause extra fatigue, warranty and reputation of reel manufacturer, price

rods/ sensitivity/ action and hand has to touch the blank not the handle.all so good tip. The guides need to stay on longer than a couple of months. Reels smooth/light/cast real good , durable and a lot of drag.

I prefer American made to start ,for reel quality bearings smooth drag for rod high quality graphite more guides the better
