conasauga river cats 10/10/2006

went sat morning about 7 am with one of my sons he caught a 3 pound channel and a snapping turtle. several turtles were there. as soon as the turtes came the cats seemed to leave the area. the snappers were taking our bait almost as fast as it got in the water. tried several baits cats and turtes liked the spam the best.

Where is the Conasauga River?

i'd like to get back to the conasauga to fish for trout

It is in Polk Co. and runs from the Jacks river along the TN GA line and then into Ga the upper portion is crystal clear and has some good trout and coosa bass fishing. the lower part has the cats.

Do any of you guys ever grapple those cats on the conasauga?? Me and a Friend of mine caught a 20 lb flathead out of there a few years ago.
