All things aside...congrats to the Chuck and Brad James on the win of the CBA!

However, I also want to send out a big congrats to the newly weds for their second place finish in the CBA and the 1st place finish in Tow Boat. Some of you that fish with the CFF know them well like I do but for those of you who don't they have been a member of here for a while. They recently got legal and were married a couple months ago, Billie and Robert Simpson. emoApplause They both go by "Fordtruck" on our membership listing. Billie and Danny (Robert's dad) is also known as "Swimteam" after Billie decided to go swimming in one of our tournaments when Danny hit the trolling motor hard and Billie went over. emoBigsmile I still think she was just looking for an excuse to cool off.

Now Robert is quiet and Billie does most of the talking for both Danny and Robert. emoPoke It is fitting now since Robert and Billie are married. I talked with them after the CBA and Billie told me that she caught most of the bass and the ones Robert caught she thought had been culled. emoZipped She did say that Robert was very good at netting her bass and he was the boat driver so she was very happy to have him along on her 2nd place finish. emoLaugh The James boys were not members of Tow Boat... emoBooHoo ....so they left $500.00 on the table for Billie and Robert to take for the first place tow boat member. They also walked away with $5,000.00 for the 2nd place finish. I know the newly weds had a limit both days and culled both days. It was a very tough tournament as you can tell from the weights. Those two did great. I know they had just over 30 lbs to take second place, behind the James boys by three pounds who had just over 33 lbs for the win.

Congrats to all who fish it because all of them got a check and were in the money. Even last place had $300.00 for fishing it. emoWorthy Jmax

Thank you, Jmax. emoRolleyes You really missed your calling, you should have been a reporter. emoGeezer You quoted me word for word. emoWorthy

The CBA is really a tough tounament to win. The absolute best of the best of our area comes out to fish. Sometimes you just find some fish emoFish and the sun emoSun shines.

Way to go on 2nd!!Think your right about Jmax being reporter. He talks a good game. And just think I picked him to win. :) That has been a great deal TOWBOAT has put together. Then have have realy out did them self this year with all the money they paid out.DD22fish won 500 in the CFF tx all together this year.Hope they keep it up.Thanks towboat!!!

Fishnboy go back and read my reply, it is exactly what happened. I did not think I would be a winner angler on that one. We had a couple chances to move up where they came off but I do not think we even had on enough to win that one. :( Jmax

Everyone should be aware that Billie was not Roberts regular CBA partner to begin the year. Long story short...Billie paid for the txs she missed to get her 7 in to qualify for the classic. I am catching a lot of flak for allowing that. But of I had to make the choice again, I would have made the same decision.

Probably the first time a husband and wife finished in the top 5 in a CBA classic. Congrats!

As long as the money was paid then I don't see how anyone could argue. Good call Justin.

I agree, if the money was paid for the ones she missed I see no problem either. If they had not come in high nothing would have been said by anyone. The problem was they came in high and there is always someone going to complain and/or find fault about that. emoDoh Jmax

I agree Justin, good call. If Danny (Robert's regular partner) had not had surgery I know he would have been there. emoAngel
